What's in this range
Sterile single-use specula for ENT and gynaecological use — Thudicum and Goldsmith nasal specula, universal aural specula, ear specula, and vaginal specula in Cusco, Sims and Collin patterns.
About the patterns
Thudicum and Goldsmith specula are used for examining the nasal cavity. Universal aural and ear specula are used for ear examination, in adult and paediatric sizes. Cusco vaginal specula are the self-retaining, bivalve pattern most commonly used for gynaecological examination. Sims specula are a single-blade pattern used for lateral vaginal wall retraction. Collin specula are a bivalve alternative to the Cusco pattern.

Each speculum is individually packaged and pre-sterilised, ready for immediate use with no reprocessing between patients — useful for high-volume clinics and community settings.

What's the difference between a Cusco and a Sims speculum?
A Cusco speculum is a self-retaining, bivalve design that holds itself open; a Sims speculum is a single blade used to retract the vaginal wall, typically requiring it to be held in position.

Are these specula single-use only?
Yes — each one is pre-sterilised for a single examination and should be disposed of after use.
