A portable device for sudden cardiac arrest. It checks the heart rhythm and advises a shock only if one is needed. Voice prompts guide the rescuer at every step.
Semi-automatic or fully automatic?
- Semi-automatic. The rescuer presses the shock button.
- Fully automatic. The AED delivers the shock itself after a warning.

Yes. Check the dates regularly and plan replacements.
Do you need training to use an AED?
No formal training is needed, because the AED gives voice prompts. Training is still recommended.
