A gastrointestinal screen is a diagnostic test that is used to detect the presence of parasites in the gastrointestinal tract. Parasites are organisms that live on or inside another organism and feed off of it. They can cause a variety of health problems, including gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and bloating.
Exams included: Blastocystis hominis, Cryptosporidium spp., Cyclospora cayetanensis, Dientamoeba fragilis, Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia lamblia
