Anaemia Profile I

The Full Blood Count (FBC) counts the number and relative proportion of each of the different types of cells in your blood. It is a routine test that provides information about the size, shape and relative maturity of the blood cells present in your blood at that moment.

This test includes a Full Blood Count (FBC) plus differential blood test which can detect immature or abnormal cells and can assist in the diagnosis of leukaemia or an inflammation, infection or immune system disorder

The erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR or sed rate) helps detect inflammation arising from conditions such as cancers, infections and autoimmune diseases.

The iron (Fe) test checks for abnormally low or high blood iron levels and how well iron is metabolized.
Ferritin is the body’s major iron-storage protein and this test helps to measure the amount of iron stored.

The total iron binding capacity (TIBC) test indicates whether there’s too much or too little iron in your bloodstream.
